On Saturday 18th May I will be running the second of my 4 Ultra Marathons, in my attempt to complete the Centurion 50 Grand Slam. Instead of asking people to just simply sponsor me, I decided to give a number of people the chance of winning a prize by being the closest guess to my official Centurion finish time over the 50 miles. Additionally if you entered the competition for the first of my races and submit your guess for the remaining three you could be in with a chance of winning a bigger prize by being the closest to my cumulative time over the 4 events. There will be various caveats in place in the eventuality of me not completing any of the races but rest assured the prizes will be won regardless.

Here’s how it works:

  • Head on over to my giving page at -> here <- and pledge a minimum donation of £5 per race, you can of course pledge more, the donation amount is entirely down to you but a minimum pledge of £20 will gain you entry to all 4 race competitions
  • Go to the Centurion website by clicking the route map above to have a read up on the event and course details so you can be better prepared to guess at my time
  • Once your donation is made head over to my competition page and enter your details and your predicted time
  • The North Downs Way competition page will close on Friday 17th May and the winner(s) will be announced as soon as I have recovered enough to do so
  • If for some reason I DNF (Do not finish) the winner(s) will be decided by drawing randomly from a hat
  • After each race is completed I will open the guess my time page for the next event for you to have your guess for that race time
  • Once all 4 events have finished your estimated times for each of the races will be added together to give your cumulative time
  • The person(s) closest to my overall cumulative time will will the main prize(s)

So what could you win I hear you ask, well that’s a very good question and I am still in the process of gathering prizes. However what I can tell you is that so far various people and businesses have pledged:

  • Free race entries to various local races ranging from 10K to Half Marathon
  • A free photo shoot
  • A sports massage
  • A free yoga class
  • Various vouchers
  • 3 months of run coaching courtesy of Liz Yelling (Team GB Olympic Athlete)
  • Meals for two at the French Table to the value of £100
  • A meal for two at Langleys
  • A Robert DAB Digital Radio
  • A Digital Camcorder

More details on who the amazing people are who donated these prizes will be published soon and I will hopefully be adding to this list as time goes on. I am waiting on confirmation of other prizes and the total number of prizes given for each competition will entirely depend on how generous people and businesses are and how many prizes I can gather together.

So what are you waiting for head on over and make your donation and make your guess and remember that it’s all for charity folks!
